Huddy-the-Hockey-Buddy needs your aid
Whether you watch, have skated or played
Please listen as I try and help kids to dream
Of playing for Mongolia’s national ice hockey team
Mongolia and ice hockey are an unlikely pair
Soviet occupation made the locals aware
Of a game played with sticks, flat balls and razored feet
Two teams fighting to score on an oval ice sheet
The communists left behind a local love for the sport
Kids taping broken sticks and playing self-taught
Wearing skates too big, no helmets or protection
A love for the game spread like an infection
With hoses and shovels small hands started to build
Ponds into rinks that are naturally chilled
Wouldn’t it be nice if the kid’s skates actually fit
If padding was warn to weather the hit
If coaches could teach how to play as a team
Have the tools and direction for a hockey dream
Huddy-the-Hockey-Buddy is needing your aid
To donate old gear, that’s previously played
Off to Mongolia your generosity will go
Helping kids with dreams of being a hockey pro
Whether your support is in money or gear
Your generosity will bring on some Mongolian cheer
